Qualifications:

  • Functional Manager/Project Manager/Deputy Director– A candidate must have at least a Bachelors Degree in any branch of Engineering or in Arts or Science or commerce of a University or any other institution in India or abroad, recognized by the Government for the purpose with a minimum of 2nd class honours (Major) in any Specific Subject or distinction in a degree course.
  • Assistant Director– A candidate must have at least a Bachelors Degree in any branch of Engineering or in Arts or Science or commerce of a University or any other institution in India or abroad, recognized by the Government for the purpose with minimum of 2nd class honours (Major) in any Specific Subject or distinction in a degree course.
  • Assistant Engineer(i) Bachelor’s Degree in (Civil/Mechanical) Engineering from a Govt.recognized University/institute approved by the AICTE. (ii) The Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering must be a Regular Course. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering obtained through Distance Mode of Education, by whatever name called, will not be accepted.
  • Junior Engineer– 3 years Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Civil/Electrical) from a Govt. recognized Institute approved by AICTE.

Age Limit:

  • The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 01-01-2020.
  • Age relaxation as per applicable rule.

  • For BPL Candidate: Nil.

  • Assistant Architect– Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an Indian or Foreign University recognized by the Government.

About Assam PSC:

The Assam Public Service Commission (Assam PSC) came into existence on Ist April, 1937 in accordance with the provision of the Govt. of India Act, 1935 with Mr James Hezelett, a retired ICS officer from London, as its first Chairman. Till framing a new regulation in 1951, five more officers mostly retired ICS officer, held the office of the Chairman for different period after Mr James Hezelett.

On India becoming Republic, the regulations of the Commission were framed by the Governor of Assam in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 318 of the Constitution of India and the same came into force w.e.f. Ist September 1951. Also in the same year the Assam Public Service Commission (Limitation of Functions) Regulation was promulgated in exercise of the powers conferred by the provision of clause II of Article 320 of the Constitution.
